This is a notice that the Drama Queensland Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday November 26, 2024, 5pm at The Stuartholme School.

All members have a right to vote at this meeting; however, if you cannot attend you can still vote by completing a proxy form, nominating the member you would like to act on your behalf. This could be a colleague attending or someone else you know who will be at the meeting. We encourage our Regional Members to get involved in this way if you can.

The year 2025 marks 30 years since Queensland hosted the transformative IDEA World Congress '95, which explored the theme "Drama, Theatre, and Education in a Changing World." In the decades since, drama educators have continued to navigate evolving dilemmas, challenges, and opportunities. This panel will examine the shifting landscape of drama education today: How can we balance artistic freedom with increasingly rigid educational frameworks? Has the role of the drama teacher transformed over the past 30 years? What part does drama play in fostering student belonging, well-being, and engagement? And how can the live theatre industry contribute to sustaining a vibrant arts education sector? Join us for a thought-provoking discussion on navigating these complexities and embracing new possibilities for the future of drama education.
